“Price Check” is an interactive curatorial exhibition and research project organized by Courtney Rile and Roslyn Esperon that examines the variations of the visual art market based upon geographic proximity to a major art center. The research focused on the state of New York where the art market ranges vastly from the urban art hub of New York City to the neighboring art town of Beacon, and more distantly, to the post-industrial city of Syracuse.  The exhibition debuted at Delavan Art Gallery in 2009 before traveling to Floor One Gallery in Beacon, NY and LaunchPad in Brooklyn, NY.  The exhibition features works by artists from each of these three locations, including: Michael Barletta, Carol Flaitz, Carla Goldberg, Novado Cappuccilli, Jason Varone, Fred Wellner, and Laura Wellner.

For further information, visit the project’s web site: http://PriceCheckNY.wordpress.com or listen to this radio interview: http://blogs.wcny.org/arts-talk-price-check/ with Courtney Rile and Roslyn Esperon on WCNY ArtsTalk with Marguerite Mitchell-Sundberg.
